The CW recently released the official synopsis for episode 12 of "The Flash" season two and announced that Allison Paige will be joining the cast as a female speedster.
According to Comic Book, the synopsis for "Fast Lane" revealed Barry is going to team up with Dr. Wells to try and close the breaches that lead to Earth-2.
Unfortunately, their quest to outfox Zoom by getting rid of the breaches is interrupted when a metahuman named Tar Pit starts wreaking havoc in Central City by turning everything to liquid asphalt.
Meanwhile, Iris West becomes concerned for her little brother Wally's safety after she learns about his drag racing hobby. When he refuses to stop racing, Iris makes a bold move that puts her life in danger.
The trailer for "Fast Lane" also hints that Zoom is going to demand that Dr. Wells steal Barry's speed in episode 12.
If Dr. Wells cooperates with Zoom, this could lead to Iris being severely wounded due to the Flash being too slow to save her from Wally's angry friends at the drag race.
Aside from Barry trying to defeat Zoom and Tar Pit, the CW announced that Allison Paige will be joining the cast of "The Flash" in an upcoming episode.
TVLine reported that Paige is going to play Eliza Harmon, who is a speedster that goes by the name of Trajectory.
Apparently, Eliza is going to journey to Central City in the hopes of creating chaos for the citizens and her antics are misinterpreted as being caused by the Flash.
In order to clear his name, Barry is forced to figure out the identity of the new speedster and find out what is driving her to wreak havoc in his city.
Finally, "The Flash" executive producer Andrew Kreisberg recently sat down to discuss the Reverse-Flash's return.
In the previous episode of "The Flash," Eobard Thawne (Reverse-Flash) appeared to return from the dead. However, Kreisberg pointed out to Entertainment Weekly that this speedster is actually from an earlier timeline.
"What's interesting is this Thawne hasn't experienced last season yet, and Barry has," he explained. "On Barry's side, there's a lot stronger feelings, and in some cases, that's blinding Barry to what he needs to do. It really was an episode about Barry coming to terms with that he needs to do and what he should do regarding Thawne."
Kreisberg also hinted that Dr. Wells could betray Zoom and tell Barry that his nemesis wants to steal his speed.
"Essentially, at his heart, this is a decent man who has been put in an impossible situation," he said. "How it ultimately plays out-whether Wells ultimately decides to follow through with Zoom or whether he switches his allegiances again-is part of the enjoyment of the show."
"The Flash" is currently airing on Tuesday nights at 8 p.m. on the CW.
