With Gal Gadot's first appearance as Wonder Woman (also known as Diana Prince) all set in Zack Snyder's movie "Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice," excitement about the character has become more apparent than ever.
During an interview with Empire Magazine, Israel-born actress Gadot dished about her "metahuman" heroine's "inborn talent." She revealed that Wonder Woman can stand on her own during fights because she heals quickly and can jump to great heights, almost like she is flying. At the same time, she can deliver a very powerful punch.
At 5,000 years old, Wonder Woman has "seen it all," and she is actually just coming out of retirement when she makes her debut in "Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice."
"She has seen what humans can do, so it was very hard for her to come back and fight," explained the actress.
Wonder Woman appears to be morally upright and can do no wrong, but Gadot insisted that her character does have a lighter side too.
"I don't want people to think she is perfect," she said. "She can be naughty."
Gadot's statements about her character's "naughty" side mirror the ones given by Chris Pine, who plays her love interest Steve Trevor in the film. According to Pine, there's "all sorts of fun stuff" awaiting moviegoers in "Wonder Woman."
He shared during a guest appearance in "Jimmy Kimmel Live" that it's actually very refreshing to have a female lead this time around because superhero films tend to be about "a revenge cycle thing."
"What I think is really lovely having a woman at the helm of something like this is there's a great deal more compassion and love at the center of the story, which for something as big a film as this is going be, it's wonderful the little bit we can do to hopefully inch this universe towards something less aggressive," he said.
"Wonder Woman" has been scheduled for release on June 23, 2017.
