The popular Duggar children continue to remain a viable commodity for parents Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar, but are they using their kids to make money in the new TLC series, "Jill& Jessa: Counting On?"

After almost a year where scandal touched the conservative Christian family and dragged their name through the mud of controversy, the Duggar clan found a reason to return to TV with the success of a series of special detailing the lives of married sisters Jill and Jessa Duggar in a limited run series.

"Jill & Jessa: Counting On" premiered in December of 2015 and ran for four episodes.

The ratings for the specials averaged more than three million viewers per episode, enough to help TLC realize that viewers were ready for another chance to invest their time into the once-beloved stars of "19 Kids and Counting."

The Duggar family lost advertisers and respect from their community and the public after it was revealed that Josh Duggar had molested four of his sisters and a babysitter when he was 14, as well as later cheating on wife Anna and admitting an addiction to pornography.

In order for the family to stay in the public eye, it was reportedly decided to focus more on the most popular daughters, Jill and Jessa Duggar, to keep an ongoing income for the reality show family.

The family posted the following on their official website, detailing the news about the show's debut.

"Dear Friends, We are excited to share the news below with you regarding a new series on TLC. We love being on this journey of life with each of you and look forward to the unfolding future together. We continue to pray for all of you and are excited about this new opportunity!" they revealed.

"Be sure to watch the video about the new series below! God Bless, The Duggar Family," the post concluded.

After a year of ups and downs, the Duggar family is on its way to finding a new normal, after TLC followed the lives of the older children as they celebrated some of life's milestone moments, including big moves, the realities of growing up and raising their own families.

Jessa Duggar and Ben Seewald are adjusting to life with baby son Spurgeon, while Jill Duggar and Derick Dillard continued their mission work in Central America.

Also featured prominently in the new series are Duggar children Jana, Jinger, Joy-Anna, John David, Josiah and Joseph.

The official release of the show explains their appearance on the series as their chance to "continue to explore their own talents and passions."

The release also detailed that the "older Duggars will be followed as they experience the growing pains of additional responsibility and figuring out adulthood for themselves."

"Jill & Jessa: Counting On" begins Tuesday, March 15th at 9 p.m. EST on TLC.
