"Mr. Robot" season 2 will feature "The Newsroom" alum Grace Gummer as a series regular, according to Variety.
The actress will play the character Dominique "Dom" DiPierro, an FBI field agent assigned to investigate the hack at Evil Corp. The investigation will then lead her to tracking down members of fsociety, which is led by Elliot (Rami Malek).
Apart from "The Newsroom," Gummer has also appeared on "Extant" and "American Horror Story."
The news of Gummer's casting gives a peek at what fans can expectfrom the award-winning USA series. With the FBI getting involved, things will become more tensed for Elliot.
Series creator Sam Esmail already teased that the upcoming installment of the show will be more intense and involve interventions from law enforcers.

"Now that the hack has happened, I actually think it's not just Evil Corp that will be, if you want to call them, antagonists, of fsociety," Esmail told The Hollywood Reporter. "Now we're dealing with a much larger issue, and I think the law enforcement, in some way, will make a presence in season two, which I think is an interesting new group of characters to explore."
On top of figuring out how to deal with the results of erasing the debt records of many people, including hiding from government forces, Elliot will also tackle personal problems.
"In terms of just overarching plot, it's going to be him facing what he's done: the consequences of his actions along with the other fsociety hackers," Esmail said. "But at the end of the day, it's still going to be that emotional journey."
Esmail added: "Specifically, the battle between he and Mr. Robot, who is going to continue on, and how does that manifest? How does that dramatize? What does that look like? That's really going to be the meat of the season as this inner conflict between Elliot and himself."
"Mr. Robot" will return to USA this summer.
