Judy King (Blair Brown), a new inmate in "Orange is the New Black," appears to be the living embodiment of Martha Stewart.
She made quite the splash when she was first introduced in season 3 and was even well-received by Poussey Washington (Samira Wiley).
King will be back with the other girls in season 4. Both Brown and Wiley shared what they know about the character to TV Guide and dished on how she will play her cards the next season.
Brown actually does not like it when people compare King to the domesticated divas found on television, since she is quite different from them.
"I think a lot of people think, 'Oh, she cooks, so she's like Martha Stewart.' 'Oh, she Southern. She's like Paula Deen.' She's actually Judy King, a creation of Jenji (Kohan) and the writers," Brown shared. "She's a very interesting character, constantly surprising to me. Sometimes I get a script and I'm like 'I'm going to say that?'"
According to Brown, her character traverses from right to wrong very easily.
"She's slightly appalling and very good and very cheerful and probably fairly amoral," she continued. "And it's interesting to watch because she's so other than anybody else in prison. And of course, Judy's greatest ally when she comes in is Poussey Washington."
Wiley added that her character is a huge fan of King, hinting that she will stop at nothing to protect King from the other inmates.
Earlier, their castmate Yael Stone, who plays Lorna Morello in the series, teased that "big changes" are in store for the characters.
The actress told ABC, "There's some big beautiful storylines and Jenji is not afraid to write funny or write from the heart and she's certainly done that for this season, it think it'll be very powerful for people."
"Orange is the New Black" will return to Netflix on Friday, June 17.
