How many more seasons are left for the legal drama "Suits"? The show's stars Gabriel Macht (Harvey Specter) and Sarah Rafferty (Donna Paulsen) hope that they still have a couple of years left to tell their story.
Now nearing the end of its fifth season, the show has just been renewed by the USA network for season 6. Macht thinks that season 7 is a done deal as well, but he is not so certain after that.
"I mean, I don't know how long we'll play these characters," he told Fox News. "We'll see, we're definitely going to do it for a sixth season. Maybe we've got a seventh season after that. As long as the fans are watching and they want to continue to see the family of characters and how we all deal with each other, we'll go on."
Macht said that he is "super appreciative of the opportunity" to portray Harvey because of his complex personality. He would really love to unravel the character more, given the chance.
"The appeal of (playing) the guy with hidden strengths and many, many flaws has become something that fans from around the world can relate to this guy in some way. Whether it's the aspirational version or just the person that they relate to. So, it's been a joy for me to get inside of this guy and make him as complicated and complex as we can," he said.
Meanwhile, Rafferty feels the same way about her character Donna. The actress expects that the show will last for two or three more years. When the time finally comes for her to say goodbye to Donna, she will definitely feel heartbroken.
"I really enjoy playing Donna and when the day comes, when the show's done - after seven or eight seasons, I would guess - I will actually miss her... like a friend that moved away!" she said.
"Suits" airs every Wednesday at 10 p.m. on USA.
