It seems like DC made the perfect choice in getting director Patty Jenkins to work on the "Wonder Woman" film which stars Gal Gadot as the titular character.
Even DC Comics' Chief Creative Officer Geoff Johns, who used to work as a production assistant for Richard Donner (director of "Superman II"), gave her his seal of approval.
On his Twitter account (@geoffjohns), he tweeted about Jenkins, complimenting her by saying: "Amazing watching @PattyJenks at work -- reminds me of Donner! Optimism, energy and all passion! XO."
Jenkins was clearly touched by Johns' praise because she tweeted back: "Best compliment ever, considering how much his Superman meant to me. And from the best partner... EVER!!!"
The film's leading man Chris Pine, who portrays military man Steve Trevor, also has nothing but kind words for the director. According to him, Jenkins managed to capture the tone and spirit of the First World War.
"Patty is just directing the daylights out of it. It's shot beautifully feels so wonderfully period, but also has this wonderful pop sensibility," he the Toronto Sun.
"It's a period we don't see often; it's usually World War II. Our costume design is incredible. We have scenes with, like, 500 extras all in period dress. I'd never been on a film with extras casting as beautifully done as it is here," he added.
What Pine appreciates about their film is that no detail is too small to go unnoticed. Jenkins made sure that everything about the movie is cohesive so Pine is certain that the movie will come out very realistic.
"It highlights a really important point. When background casting is done well, it can make or break a scene," he explained. "I've got people in deep background that have entire lives. It's awesome, it's actual make-believe land."
"Wonder Woman" has been scheduled for release on June 23, 2017.
