"Girls" star Lena Dunham has revealed she's "not ready" to marry fun. guitarist and songwriter Jack Antonoff, despite a public declaration in 2015 that the couple wouldn't wed until gay couples had the right to do so as well.
The iconic day occurred on June 26 and still, Dunham and Antonoff have not tied the knot.
Does the actress have cold feet when it comes to marrying her buddy Taylor Swift's "1989" songwriting partner?
"We're not going to suddenly just get engaged because it became legal," she said to The Huffington Post.
"We better wait for a moment where we feel excited about this. And I'm excited to marry him at some point, but it felt like a lot of pressure to just go for it that day," the actress and writer remarked.
The "Girls" actress also remarked with a tongue-in-cheek comment about not being able to pull off as fabulous a wedding as some of her gay friends.
She said to The Huffington Post of her feelings, "I also have to say I feel intimidated because I don't want to espouse any stereotypes, but gay people are kind of killing it at weddings right now."
"They're kind of winning at weddings. So I don't want to go in and kind of pale in comparison," she quipped.
Dunham and Antonoff met in 2012 on a blind date.
While the couple remains a happily unmarried twosome, Dunham will likely focus her energies on her work in wrapping up "Girls" on HBO, rather than planning a wedding ceremony and reception
The HBO series will conclude after season six.
Dunham called into a New York radio show called Elvis Duran and the Morning Show to discuss the upcoming season of "Girls" and when she thinks she'll be finished with the show for good.
The actress and writer confessed that no one affiliated with the series has plans for season seven.
"Never say never, but that is the way that we're thinking about it right now and we're starting to think about sort of how to wrap up the storylines of these particular young women," said the actress.
"I started working on this show when I was 23, and now I'm going to be 30, so it kind of feels right to end it."
"Girls" airs Sunday night at 10 p.m. EST on HBO.
