Snow White (Ginnifer Goodwin) and David (Josh Dallas) of "Once Upon A Time" made a difficult decision to leave their son Prince Neal back home in Storybrooke this season 5 in order to join their daughter Emma Swan (Jennifer Morrison) in her journey to the Underworld.
They thought that their journey would not take long, but they were mistaken.
During an interview with TV Line, Dallas acknowledged that the Charmings did not really think things through.
"Yeah, it's not the best parenting choice," he said about leaving Neal back in Storybrooke. "It's not a great thing that they left him behind, and they're feeling that."
Leaving their baby behind actually "drudges up" the trauma they felt with their firstborn child, whom they were forced to transport to safety using the enchanted wardrobe.
"They don't want to make a mistake like they did the first time with Emma," Dallas explained. "So now that they've left Neal, they've got to try to get back to him."
Even Morrison thinks that the Charmings should have stayed in Storybrooke with their son, since Emma is very worried about her parents' sacrifice.
"[Emma] feels very concerned that maybe they made the wrong decision by coming down there - and she would feel even more guilty if something bad happened to them. She has put a lot of pressure on herself to make sure that everyone is okay," the actress said.
Meanwhile, another character who is weighed down by problems is Robert Carlyle's Rumple, who just discovered that he is going to be a father once again since Belle (Emilie de Ravin) is pregnant. This news would have made anyone else thrilled, but Rumple is in a quandary since he assumed the role of the Dark One.
"When he finds out that she's pregnant, it's going to affect him, it's going to affect her, it's definitely going to affect his motivation," executive producer Edward Kitsis told Entertainment Weekly.
"Once Upon a Time" airs every Sunday at 8 p.m. on ABC.
