After months of deliberation of whether or not to take over the seat of departing judge Nick Grimshaw on the U.K. version of "X-Factor," it looks as if Louis Tomlinson has finally made a decision.
According to a report by The Mirror, it seems that the One Direction singer and songwriter will not step behind the judge's table for the upcoming season of the long-running talent series headed up by Simon Cowell.
Despite insisting to the contrary that he would love to be a part of the series alongside Simon Cowell and Liam's Payne's girlfriend Cheryl Fernandez-Versini, Tomlinson seems to have changed his mind.
As reported by The Express back in 2015, Tomlinson stated, "I've handed my CV to Simon for next year's show, so we will see how it goes. It's definitely something I am thinking about."
The singer then added "I am the biggest X-Factor fan and I would love to be there week in, week out and really give that level of passion. I think I would be a decent judge."
The Mirror reported that Tomlinson is too focused on establishing his own record label to be able to dedicate so much time to the talent show that made him famous.
"Louis loves The X-Factor but wants to develop his label further this year and sign more new talent," a source close to the singer said to The Mirror.
"Simon understands. They both agreed to not rule out him being an X Factor judge in the future," the source said to The Mirror of Tomlinson's future plans on the series.
Tomlinson would also have to commute back and forth from London to Los Angeles, where he is currently based, to join the show.
This would take him far away from his newborn son Freddie Reign, who lives in Los Angeles with his mother, Briana Jungwirth.
Tomlinson's band, One Direction, is currently on hiatus throughout 2016.
