"Shadowhunters" episode 8 was action-packed.
A group of zombie-like creatures attacked the Jade Wolf. Lydia Branwell, a character who was not present in Cassandra Clare's "The Mortal Instruments" book series, has already been introduced. The vampires tried to start a beef with the Shadowhunters. And Simon (Alberto Rosende) can no longer say the name of God because he's a blood-sucking Down Worlder now.
The tension will only get tighter in the next episode.
In the promo released for episode 9, "Rise Up," Simon is seen getting some trouble with adjusting to his new life.
"I can smell the blood in your veins," he tells Clary. "And I want it."
The clip also teases the Shadowhunters getting ready to defend the Institute against an attack.

Even in the middle of the tension, however, Clary (Katherine McNamara) and Jace (Dominic Sherwood) managed to squeeze in some time for love.
Apart from the ones shown in the clip, here are the other things fans can expect to see in the upcoming episode of the show.
"Aftter the attack, the Institute and The Clave are on high alert and taking no prisoners to get answers. When Lydia makes a harsh call on the Seelies, Jace, Clary and Isabelle fear that this decision could be disastrous and the wrong way to defeat Valentine. Left with no other choice, the trio takes drastic actions to stop what is about to take place.
Meanwhile, Simon struggles to deal with his new situation, and Alec is emotionally torn with what is happening at the Institute."
