New spoilers for "Arrow" season four hinted that Felicity Smoak and Oliver Queen could start repairing their romantic relationship in episode 19.
"Arrow" co-executive producer Marc Guggenheim hinted to TVLine that Felicity could return to the team and reconcile with Oliver in "Canary Cry."
Previously, Felicity ended her engagement with Oliver after she discovered he deliberately lied to her about his illegitimate son William Clayton.
Oliver's sister Thea Queen also tried to get Felicity to return to the team after she took down the Bug-Eyed Bandit (Brie Larvan), but her friend admitted she wanted to focus on helping others with biotechnology.
"There are two issues at play with Felicity," he explained. "She's broken up with Oliver and she's also broke up with the team. In episode 19, we'll see the undoing of one of those decisions."
However, Comic Book reported that "Arrow" co-executive producer Wendy Mericle warned that Oliver and Felicity might not immediately resume their romantic relationship in episode 19.
"One does not mean that the other is going to happen," she said. "She could come back to the team and that does not mean she is going to get back together with Oliver."
Mericle added that Felicity is going to have to do some soul-searching in the wake of her breakup with Oliver and leaving Team Arrow.
"We started off this season with Felicity really wanting to come back and do this because she herself enjoys this kind of vigilante lifestyle, but that is separate from Oliver," she explained. "In the season four premiere, Oliver didn't want to return and it was more about making Felicity happy than anything else. So she'll be grappling in some ways with that."
If Felicity does return to the team, it is possible that she will realize that life is too short to be unhappy and will have a few heart-to-heart discussions with Oliver.
Perhaps the former couple will be able to work on their issues, which could lead to them reconciling by the season four finale or even the season five premiere.
"Arrow" season four will return on Wednesday, April 27, at 8 p.m. on the CW.
