"Pretty Little Liars" star Troian Bellisario will take on a new role in season 7. Apart from portraying Spencer Hastings, the actress will also work from behind the camera and direct an episode in the upcoming season.
"I'm super excited," Bellisario said about the stint, according to Alloy Entertainment.
The actress added jokingly, "I'm terrified of the girls. I told them to be nice," before saying, "But I think they're all going to be very well-behaved and awesome. I'm so happy for the opportunity to work with such talented actors. It's going to be a blast!"
Bellisario, who has worked behind the camera before as a producer, has opened up about her desire to direct. The actress told MTV that she was hoping that she could do it after her stint on "PLL," but it appears that she'll take on the challenge earlier than she expected.

The directorial stint might be just what Bellisario needs in terms of how to move her career forward. The actress has shared her frustrations over not knowing where she stands in the entertainment industry.
"I haven't quite found where I fit in the world of Hollywood, which is weird because I grew up here," Bellisario said. "Even when I was driving down the street looking at billboards — even when I was on a billboard fo 'Pretty Little Liars' — I never really felt like I fit in."
The actress, however, does not see her state of undecidedness as a con.
"I think that's the reason that I chose these roles that are complicated or complex," she said. "I don't know what I am yet as a person. I don't know where I fit in, which is kind of this wonderful freedom."
