"Fifty Shades Darker" stars Dakota Johnson and Jamie Dornan are not experiencing a lack of chemistry portraying Christian Grey and Anastasia Steele, despite published reports.
The rumors began when director James Foley had to reshoot several pivotal scenes to the film because the actors were said to be "distant" from each other.
Celebrity Dirty Laundry reported that Dornan has had difficulty reconnecting with Johnson since the birth of his second child with wife Amelia Warner.
The couple's daughter, Dulcie, was born two years ago. Warner recently gave birth to the couple's second child.
MNR Daily posted photos of the Dornan and Johnson filming what looked to be a rather compromising scene in the film. If the photos are any indication of what to expect from the finished product for "Fifty Shades Darker," fans should be pleased.
"The stars put their all into the tense scenes, walking side-by-side with their faces bearing looks of consternation," said an eyewitness close to the production to EnStars.
"Dakota and Jamie were seen sharing a sweet smooch earlier this month while shooting 'Fifty Shades Darker.' They were also spotted filming a much more intense scene on Thursday in Vancouver, Canada, one that is iconic to fans of the books," said the same insider to the entertainment website.
According to a story published by Inquisitr, rumors were so prevalent surrounding the actors reported incompatibility issues, during the production and subsequent release of the "Fifty Shades of Grey," that a Universal Pictures spokesperson denied any claims of incompatibility between the two actors in a statement.
Dornan also disputed the claims of the actors incompatibility as far back as 2015, when the same rumors ran rampant when the twosome filmed "Fifty Shades of Grey."
Said Dornan in a 2015 interview with Today, "They wouldn't have shot the film with us if there was a chemistry problem... whatever chemistry means. You have to jump through a lot of hoops to get a part like this, and they simply wouldn't have cast us."
In addition to further exploring the relationship of Christian Grey and Anastasia Steele, the new film will introduce a number of villains this time around including Elena Lincoln (Kim Basinger), Jack Hyde (Eric Johnson), and Leila Williams (Bella Heathcote), all of whom have interesting ties to Christian's past.
"Fifty Shades Darker" hits theaters Feb. 17. 2017.
