"Grey's Anatomy" fans are still holding on to hope that Sandra Oh, who played Cristina Yang, will return. Oh says the exit was final, though, and she currently has no plans on reprising her role.
Speaking with The Los Angeles Times, the actress explained why she left the show, saying: "I felt I had done my job. I had explored everything that I could with my character."
The actress continued: "I loved the camaraderie of that show. So the motivation to go was creative. I am so grateful that Shonda Rhimes understood I needed to make that choice."
As for rumors saying that she might return to the show for its series finale, the actress said: "I love that there are rumors."
Speculations about her return started swirling last year when she posted a photo with Kevin McKidd to Twitter. McKidd plays Owen, who was Cristina's love interest.

The actress has spoken with Rhimes about possibly appearing on the show's series finale but nothing has been planned. It might also not come soon since "Grey's" was picked up for another season.
"We talked about that when I told her I was going to leave but we haven't talked about it again," Oh told The Hollywood Reporter. "There are certain things that Shonda and I talk about once and then we leave it because we want things to happen without pressure."
The actress continued: "I told her, 'If you guys want to finish it out however you want to finish it out, I'd be more than happy to come back. And if it doesn't fit in that way, I totally understand. I just want you to know that I'm available.' Who knows! I might be doing something fabulous and it might not work out but I did say, 'Yes, of course I would.'"
"Grey's Anatomy" airs Thursdays, 8 p.m. on ABC.
