Bon Jovi is celebrating the upcoming release of the band's 14th studio album, "This House is Not For Sale," as well as their 33rd year as a musical group.

While the story of the band's successful rise to the top is well known by fans, there are always new bits of information to add to Bon Jovi's evolving tale of superstardom.

Here are four little-known and surprising facts about Bon Jovi.

4. "Runaway" Hosted An All-Star Backup Band That Was Not The Members Of Bon Jovi

Bon Jovi's early signature song "Runaway" was recorded with a pickup band nicknamed the All-Star Review. Back then, solo singer Jon Bon Jovi had a song but not a band when he recorded the demo for the now iconic rock tune in 1983. According to Ultimate Classic Rock, the All-Star Review consisted of musicians who were hanging out in the Power Station recording studio where the demo was cut, including Scandal drummer Frankie LaRocka, future Bon Jovi bass player Hugh McDonald and E Street Band legend Roy Bittan.

3. They've All Been Successful At Their Side Projects

Jon Bon Jovi has dabbled in the acting field for almost 20 years with star turns in films such as "New Years Eve" and "Moonlight and Valentino." Former guitarist Richie Sambora released two successful solo albums in his own right. Keyboardist David Bryan wrote the Broadway musical sensation "Memphis" and was honored with several Tony Awards in 2010 for his writing and composing. Finally, drummer Tico Torres is an established painter and has exhibited and sold his art continuously over the past 20 years.

2. Bon Jovi Wasn't The Band's Original Choice For A Name

According to Rock Music TV, the band was originally going to be called Johnny Electric until a record company executive suggested they follow the example of multi-platinum band Van Halen and take their leader's last name as their own.

1. Bon Jovi's Album "New Jersey" Was The First U.S. Rock Album Sold In Russia

USSR leader Mikhail Gorbachev initiated an international open dialogue with the world in the late 1980s, which was a massive step towards peace between Russia and the West. In 1988, "New Jersey" was released by the Soviet state-owned record company "Melodiya," and the iconic rock and roll album was the first American album ever released in USSR, according to Gulf News.

The album "This House Is Not For Sale" will be released sometime in 2016.
