Kareena Kapoor has been laying low from the Bollywood scene since she got married to Saif Ali Khan and as she gets back into booking new films, the happy couple open up about their marriage and what they hope for in the future.
Kapoor and Khan have previously expressed that they would like to have a kid one day, and recent rumors circulated that they are expecting.
According to Bollywood Life, a tabloid reported that Kapoor was spotted visiting a gynecologist at Sitaram medical Center in Bandra for sonography. This caused speculation that the actress is pregnant and is expecting her first child with her husband.
To add to the speculation, Kapoor hasn’t signed any new film and she even turned down a dinner invitation with Prince William and Kate Middleton. However, a source close to Kapoor turned down the pregnancy rumors.
“I doubt she is pregnant. She is freezing her eggs. A lot of career women who put off pregnancy freeze their eggs for later, when they are ready to start a family. Bebo is already in her late 30s, it’s a wise decision,” said the source.
However, Kapoor also turned down the statement that the alleged source stated, saying, “What are these rumors? I am not pregnant. I am not planning to have a baby for the next two years. What rubbish people talk! I have no even gone anywhere. And when I decide to have a child, I will have it the natural way. I don’t believe in freezing my eggs.”
In a previous interview with Bollywood Life, the actress talked about her marriage with Khan and feels that she has matured with this relationship, becoming more responsible towards family. When asked if she will have her own kids anytime soon, the actress revealed that she is not ready now, but “two years from now, I’ll be a mom.”
In an interview with Bombay Times, Kapoor said that having a baby has been on “the top of their mind.” They said that they are enjoying their marriage, but Kapoor is reportedly “greedy for motherhood,” but is unsure when it will happen.
