"Twilight" star Nikki Reed and her husband Ian Somerhalder, who stars in The CW show "The Vampire Diaries," have been busy promoting their causes to protect animals and conserve the environment ever since they got married in 2015.
Now, it seems like the two are about to make time to start a family of their own. When Mario Lopez of Extra asked Reed recently about having babies with Somerhalder, the actress replied, "I love kids. It's gonna happen."
Earlier, Reed's husband said that they are "absolutely" working on having a baby already.
During an interview with Entertainment Tonight, Somerhalder said he "can't wait" to start a family with Reed.
"Well, you know, those are the coolest little things in the world," he said. "Standby."
For now, the two are focusing all their love and attention onto their "furry babies" consisting of four dogs, three cats and two horses.
Somerhalder even said that he is one lucky guy because he is married to Reed. "Every single day. Look who I get to wake up with," he told PEOPLE. "We're under kitties and dogs, and it's just pure bliss."
Somerhalder also hopes that his future baby with Reed will inherit their singing talent, because singing is a favorite pastime in their household.
"There's a lot of singing (in our home). Well, (Nikki) is also a very talented musician and her voice is hauntingly beautiful, so she's got me by a long shot," he said.
Before he met Reed, Somerhalder was actually dating his "The Vampire Diaries" co-star Nina Dobrev. Their relationship even spawned the tandem name "Nian," and fans were simply crushed when the two decided to call it quits.
Even though the two stars have moved on successfully from their failed relationship, fans are still trying to link the two together and are fervently hoping that they would rekindle their romance.
