The fairy tale series "Once Upon A Time" is going to provide viewers with another couple to root for now that the possible romance of Hades (Greg Germann) and Zelena (Rebecca Mader) is being explored, starting with the episode "Our Decay."
Germann told The Hollywood Reporter that there's "more than it seems" to their powerful connection and that their "strong bond" can be attributed to the fact that they were both the black sheep of their families.
"This episode is a little bit more about Zelena and me, first - delving into that a little bit and finding out that it's more than it seems on the surface. Who's not drawn to a green witch?" he teased.
Germann said that the two might seem like good adversaries at first, and they will even use each other to their own advantage. But later, something will develop from their set-up.
"We both have a similar path," he explained. "The thing I love about this show is that, even though it lives in the realm of fantasy, at its essence, it's pretty human. When you meet somebody that has a past that you can identify with because of maybe the kind of pain they've suffered, you're drawn to that person. That's ultimately what Hades and Zelena find in common with one another."
Meanwhile, Germann told E! Online that there's "definitely an attraction" between Hades and Zelena. "There's an electricity. Or thunderbolts. Or fire, depending on what world we're in, I guess," he said.
The actor refused to share more spoilers about the two's romance, but he did gush about portraying Hades for "Once Upon A Time."
"It's just so much fun to play," he said. "As Hades, what can't I do? I kind of can do whatever I want to do and it's a kind of power there. For the time being, at least, I've got everyone under my thumb."
"Once Upon a Time" airs every Sunday at 8 p.m. on ABC.
