"Prison Break" star Dominic Purcell has revealed that the idea to revive the hit Fox series starring himself and Wentworth Miller was their idea.
"Wentworth and I decided, 'Why not revisit Prison Break?'" Purcell said, according to Express. "And so we went to the studio and they were excited about the idea, and here we are."
The actor also said that a revival may have already been in the cards at Fox even before he pitched the idea.
"I think the studio always wanted to at some point revisit 'Prison Break,' but at some point Wentworth kind of semi-retired from the business," Purcell added. "He gave himself a break and focused on writing. He's jumped back into the fray now - and as soon as Wentworth was on board, that's when the dominos started to fall."
Purcell also teased that the show's revival will be big.

"'Prison Break' was such an iconic show and it was something that we were very interested in revisiting, and they pulled out all the stops," he said. "So it's going to be a tremendous show."
Miller has also opened up about the show's revival, calling it a "privilege."
"I never imagined that we'd be coming back five or six years later to revisit these characters," the actor said during an appearance on the "Today" show. "This is a treat and a privilege."
Despite appearing together on "Legends of Tomorrow," fans of Purcell and Miller are still looking forward to seeing the two together as Lincoln Burrows and Michael Scofield.
Speaking about their dynamics and on-screen chemistry, Purcell told The Hollywood Reporter: "All Wentworth and I do is stay true to the characters and what's written on the page. And the chemistry and dynamic, that's an innate thing he and I have [that] you can't articulate. We just work well together."
