Bravo's "The Real Housewives" franchise is heading to the south.
Last year, Bravo announced that they would be adding two new cities to their successful "Real Housewives" franchise, one of them being "The Real Housewives of Dallas."
Fashion & Style got to know one of the stars of "RHOD," Cary Deuber, in a new, three-part interview.
In part 1 of the interview, Cary opened up about her decision to join "RHOD" and revealed some details about her life.
Check out part 1 of our exclusive interview with Cary Deuber below!
Was reality television ever something that you thought about pursuing, prior to being asked to join "RHOD"?
"It wasn't really anything I had ever considered. I did some musical theater when I was a child and was interested in becoming an actress back then, but never pursued it."
What made you decide to join "RHOD"?
"I just couldn't turn down the opportunity. It is a once in a lifetime offer. I think I would have major regret right now if I said no. It's like if someone dares me to do something! I don't turn my back on a challenge."
Unlike some of your other costars, you were actually born on the East Coast. What was it like moving to Dallas? How is life different in the South?
"It is more conservative down here in the Bible belt. I thought it would be very different and country. It is much more cosmopolitan than I assumed. I like it! I think my personality might not be everyone's cup of tea down here because I tell it how it is. I don't sugarcoat things."
In addition to being a "Real Housewife," you are also a mother, a nursing assistant and involved in numerous charities. How are you able to balance all of these responsibilities? Will we get to see these different sides to you on "RHOD"?
"I am actually an RN( Registered Nurse) and CRNFA (Certified Registered Nurse First Assistant). It is hard to juggle it all but you will see it! I am also a dedicated yogi so that I don't go crazy doing everything else! You will get to see me operating with my husband, being a mother, friend, wife and philanthropist. My life is busy but I think there is so much there that is relatable to so many different people."
Did you watch any other "Real Housewives" series, prior to joining the cast? If so, which is your favorite and who are some of your favorite housewives?
"I watched most of the RHW series prior to 'RHOD.' I think 'RHOBH' is my favorite. It is luxurious and it is fun to see their lavish homes and closets! I also have a great respect for Bethenny Frankel. She made so much of the opportunities that she was given. She is also a working mother and I think she wears a lot of hats like I do!"
"The Real Housewives of Dallas" premieres Monday, Apr. 11, at 10 p.m. on Bravo.
