One of Bollywood’s most successful actors, Shahrukh Khan, has already signed three new films in 2015, and will be released later this year. As we’ve been seeing some behind-the-scenes looks of his new film “Fan,” the movie has finally hit theaters.
SRK recently released his long-awaited film, “Fan,” today, making this his first 2016 release, and fans are already raving about the movie.
The actor plays a double role in the film, superstar Aryan Khanna and his die-hard fan, Gaurav.
In the Maneesh Sharma directed film, Gaurav, who owns a small cyber cafe in Delhi, is a huge fan of Aryan. He worships the superstar and is all crazy about him, but he eventually achieves something big in his life, which makes him very popular in his community.
To dedicate his achievement to his idol, Aryan, Gaurav decides to meet the superstar on his birthday, so that he can wish him and also show what he has achieved because of him. Gaurav goes on a journey and reaches Mumbai, while facing a few difficulties.
However, Gaurav’s excitement comes crashing down when Aryan refuses to share time with him and refers Gaurav’s actions to a crime. Things take an ugly turn and his admiration for Aryan turns to a dangerous obsession that crosses the line. This is when things turn into a cat and mouse chase between Gaurav and Aryan.
SRK rocks the double role very well, playing a believable obsessive fan and cruises through his superstar image. Fans got to see SRK’s real feelings and views for the firs time on what it’s like being a superstar, but it may be a bit exaggerated. He even lets the director poke fun on his life and career, like his dancing at parties for money, his brawls, and how his recent films have not been working well.
The last time we saw SRK play a double role was in his older film, “Duplicate,” but according to some reports, this is his best film in the last five years because it was something very different.
“‘Fan’ has been the most difficult film of my life and at the same time it’s the most special film as well,” said SRK to Bollywood Life.
“‘Fan’ is not just about the love of the fan for his favorite superstar. In the film, eventually Guarav and Aryan are pitted against each other and it’s the superstar who plays the nemesis to the fan,” said a source about the film.
