The group is having a night out on "The Big Bang Theory" season 9, episode 22, "The Fermentation Bifurcation."
The new episode synopsis reveals that Penny, Amy, Raj, Howard and Leonard go to a wine tasting while a pregnant Bernadette is forced to spend the night with Sheldon learning about "Star Wars" toast, "it has a light side and a dark side."
In a sneak preview for the episode, we see that despite Amy's desire for Sheldon to join the group for the wine tasting, Sheldon refuses and instead decides that he and Bernadette should have their own night together. He makes the case that everything Bernadette is unable to do because of her pregnancy, are the very things Sheldon has no interest in doing ever. For instance, drinking wine and eating sushi.
Meanwhile, during their night of fancy food and wine, the gang runs into Penny's ex-boyfriend Zack. Fans will remember that Penny and Zack got married during a drunken night and had to get the wedding annulled. We have not seen Zack since.
Of course running into an ex is always uncomfortable, but the awkwardness won't end there. The gang will also be introduced to Raj's new girlfriend, Claire.
Raj met Claire at the comic book store and they hit it off immediately, forcing Raj to decide whether to stay with his girlfriend Emily or try it out with Claire. After much debate, Raj chose Claire. However, according to the synopsis, things won't go over well when Raj finally introduces her to the gang.
"The Big Bang Theory" is almost at the end of its ninth season. These next few episodes will really set up what is to come.
"The Big Bang Theory" season 9, episode 22, airs Thursday, April 28, 8 p.m. ET on CBS.
