"The Mindy Project" returned last week with its midseason premiere leaving Mindy and Danny broken up. So this week, Mindy is back on the market!
When "The Mindy Project" first aired, Mindy was just coming out of a relationship with a fellow doctor she thought she would end up marrying. Sound familiar? Now, with the second half of season 4, the show is taking a similar trajectory — except for the fact that Mindy is now a mom.
The first time around, we saw Mindy date a lot of eligible bachelors. They all turned out to have missed the mark, probably because she was in love with Danny but hadn't yet realized it. But this time around, Mindy has to find a man that is open to her but also to her son, Leo.
Fans thought that Danny and Mindy might be together forever. They have a child together, and they were on their way to getting married. However, last season problems started to arise when Danny wanted Mindy to be a stay-at-home mother and keep having more children. Mindy, on the other hand, wanted to be a career woman and a great mother.
In the midseason premiere, we saw a montage of Mindy and Danny trying to work out their differences. Clearly, they love each other but it just was not enough to make things work.
In this week's episode, "So You Think You Can Finance," Mindy starts dating again. Her first foray into the dating pool involves "The Walking Dead's" Ross Marquand.
Judging by the promo, things seem to be going well between Mindy and her new fling. Except, according to TV Guide, Mindy does not tell him that she has a kid.
"Upon hearing of the slip-up, everyone in the office weighs in on how Mindy should best proceed, but we're betting that no one could predict what would happen after Mindy reveals the truth," TV Guide writes.
Will he embrace it with open arms, or is this new relationship over before it really got off the ground?
