"The Night Manager" star Hugh Laurie recently sat down to discuss what it was like portraying a villain that was "charmingly evil" while his co-star Tom Hiddleston revealed whether or not there will be a sequel to the miniseries.

"The Night Manager" is a miniseries based on a novel of the same named written by John le Carre and follows a former British soldier named Jonathan Pine who now works as a night manager at a hotel.

Jonathan then becomes involved in a plot to take down an international arms dealer named Richard Roper and is forced to engage in criminal activities in order to defeat the villain.

"The Night Manager" star Hugh Laurie recently sat down to discuss his character Richard Roper with Gold Derby.

Laurie admitted he enjoyed having the opportunity to play such a charming villain in AMC's upcoming miniseries.

"Richard's evil, but what makes him worse is that he is charmingly evil," the actor explained. "Someone who is evil but hopeless is someone we don't have to worry about much. It's the people who are good at being evil that we have to fear. Richard is good at being evil, he's clever, he is very resourceful and pretty fearless."

Laurie added that his character Richard also has a keen ability to size someone up, which is why he is such a formidable foe in "The Night Manager."

"He has the ability to virtually size anybody up," he said. "It is part of what makes him so scary but also what makes him so attractive. I think if I was in his orbit, there's something enjoyable about being with people who see you for who you are, even if what they are seeing is not flattering."

Meanwhile, Laurie's co-star Tom Hiddleston also sat down to discuss whether or not there is going to be a sequel to "The Night Manager."

Previously, the miniseries aired in the United Kingdom on the BBC and was well received by the critics. "The Night Manager" is slated to premiere in America on April 19 on AMC.

Hiddleston admitted to The Hollywood Reporter that there are no plans for a sequel and pointed out that he felt that the story was complete.

"The story feels complete," he explained. "I only ever conceived of it as an adaption of a complete novel by John le Carre. We made some alterations, we updated it so it had a political resonance and we changed the ending a little bit. I know the rumors about it extending but none of that is real."

"The Night Manager" miniseries will premiere on Tuesday, April 19, at 10 p.m. ET on AMC.
