Aishwarya Rai Bachchan recently made a successful comeback in the Bollywood industry with “Jazbaa,” and now she is booking more projects.
The former Miss World has been busy filming for “Sarbjit,” directed by Omung Kumar, who also directed “Mary Kom.”
The makers of the film are close to wrapping up the film, which is set to release on May 20, but it will also clash with the former Miss World’s father-in-law’s movie “TE3N.” Rai and Amitabh Bachchan will go head-to-head at the box office this year, making it a big competition.
According to Indian Express, the release date for “Sarbjit” was announced on March 8 and many fans are looking forward to the biopic, which also stars Randeep Hooda playing the role of Sarabjit. Rai will play the role of his sister Dalbir Kaur.
“TE3N” also stars Nawazuddin Siddiqui and Vidya Balan, which makes it a big release this year as well.
Kumar previously released the first poster of the film on Twitter showing a dark background and a grassy field with the movie’s title.
The movie also features Richa Chadha and Darshan Kumar. The movie is a biopic about an Indian farmer Sarabjit Singh, who was convinced of terrorism and spying in Pakistan.
The production company of the film, T-Series, also tweeted about the the release date of Rai’s film, saying, “#Sarbjit, one of the most awaited films of 2016, will be releasing on May 20, 2016! Mark the date!”
Along with the post, they shared another poster of the film showing Rai’s face on the front wearing traditional Indian clothes while sporting a worried look on her face.
In the mean time, Rai is also working on “Ae Dil Hai Mushkil” with Ranbir Kapoor and Anushka Sharma.
