Jon Bon Jovi and his band Bon Jovi are taking bold steps towards a new type of sound on their upcoming release "This House Is Not For Sale," they're first without longtime guitarist Richie Sambora.
"This record is about our integrity," said Jon Bon Jovi at a press conference in 2015 to promote the band's new music.
"Integrity matters and we're at a stage of our career where we don't have anything left to prove," the singer and songwriter remarked.
Instead of the usual boy meets girl, falls in love and it's the couple against the world message Bon Jovi has spread for over thirty years, the singer is taking a more serious approach to his new music.
He is inspired by more than just the usual for this particular release.
"I just read the paper; it gives you an opportunity to write something," Bon Jovi remarked to People magazine.
"Some songs have a little more of the 'chip on my shoulder' sound which is OK for us to have right now," Bon Jovi expressed in the People interview.
"When I wrote 'Runaway' in 1982, my viewpoint wasn't that big, but with every record and a passing decade of our career, we evolve. We keep our eyes open, let information in and write about the world around us. We really couldn't write 'You Give Love a Bad Name' now. It was great when I was 25 but not at 53," the singer detailed to The Guardian.
Bon Jovi told Billboard Magazine, "This hits it right in the head and tells you what happened. Listen to the lyrics because it explains exactly what happened. And that's that."
Bon Jovi also told the music publication of "This House Is Not For Sale" that "believe me, the new record is good. It's pointed," he said. "It is something we are going to be very proud of in the spring when we put it out."
"This House Is Not For Sale" is scheduled for a release in the Spring of 2016.
