"Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice" star Ben Affleck has nothing but nice things to say about his co-star Gal Gadot, who will make her first appearance as Wonder Woman in Zack Snyder's film.
Affleck describes Gadot as both "beguiling and inspiring," and he loves her portrayal of the female superhero because she did it with "ease and grace."
Even Affleck's character Batman is a huge fan of Wonder Woman. As jaded as he is about life, Wonder Woman still came in like a breath of fresh air for him.
"It inspires in him the idea that well, if there's one of these kinds of people out there, then maybe there are in fact more. If there are more, then maybe that's hopeful and also terrifying to him, because then they could make humans even more powerless - or they could serve on our side," Affleck told Entertainment Weekly.
"You've got to remember that Batman is the world's greatest detective, and if he suspects that there may be more, and if he suspects in particular that Diana [Prince] may be somebody special, he gets inspired," he added.
Gadot would have been touched by Affleck's high praise. She was very insistent that her character be portrayed as someone strong yet gentle that young girls and women can look up to.
"For 'BvS' it was important for me that we show how independent she is. She is not relying on a man, and she's not there because of a love story. She's not there to serve someone else," she told Glamour.
And despite all of her powers, Wonder Woman is still a "loving" woman who has "a lot of emotional intelligence."
"I think women are amazing for being able to show what they feel. I admire women who do. I think it's a mistake when women cover their emotions to look tough. I say let's own who we are and use it as a strength," she said.
