Five Seconds of Summer's frontman Luke Hemmings revealed that it's hard to trust new people after achieving worldwide fame alongside bandmates Michael Clifford, Calum Hood and Ashton Irwin.
The band is never short of attention but that isn't always a good thing according to frontman Luke Hemmings.
In an interview with the Japanese online magazine Young Post, the singer admitted that he has become more warier of the people he lets into his life as he always wonders if they have ulterior motives in wanting to be his friend.
Hemmings confessed, "You have to really pick and choose your people. You know, I think you learn how to do that as you go through this kind of thing. You also don't relate to anyone at home as much anymore."
He went onto add that spending time with his older friends from Australia has also changed because he feels like they can't relate to each other as well as they could have before.
"If you go back and try to do things with them, you really gotta make an effort. I just go back and be a normal dude, because people who you're friends with for the right reasons just stay with you," Hemmings lamented in the interview of reuniting with old friends
The sexy guitarist also revealed he struggles with being homesick quite a bit as well and finds that the hardest part of long stretches of touring.
"The hardest thing is probably just being away from home a lot. Not really having a life. Just travelling every day, and working. There's gotta be some struggle that comes with it. But I had a great time the other day," he explained of his difficulties with being in the public eye.
Hemmings explained he tries to retain a sense of normalcy when he's on the road by doing things like going out for coffee and trying local adventures when they are in a new area.
"I was in Venice, California and I went surfing. And then I drank coffee and ate great food. I think it's really important to do things outside the regular things you do. Being outside of tour buses and hotels really opens my eyes to the world," the sexy Aussie singer and songwriter revealed in the interview.
Five Seconds of Summer is currently on the road promoting their "Sounds Live, Feels Live" tour.
