"Game of Thrones" star Kit Harington recently sat down to discuss the possible return of Jon Snow while Ian McShane gave a few more tidbits about his role in the upcoming sixth season.
Time Out London revealed that Harington admitted he filmed Jon Snow's funeral scene for "Game of Thrones" season six and was adamant that his character was gone for good.
"I'm not in the show anymore and I'm definitely not in the new series," he said. "I did film some scenes of Jon Snow being dead-it's my best work. I don't have a clue about what happens in the series. I know how long I have to play a corpse for, but I can't tell you that."
Despite Harington's denials about the return of Jon Snow in "Game of Thrones" season six, Winter Is Coming reported that the actor was spotted six months ago in Northern Ireland filming a major battle scene.
Aside from Harington's comments about Jon's possible return, Ian McShane revealed a few more tidbits about the character he is going to play in "Game of Thrones" season six.
Watchers On The Wall pointed out that the actor admitted his character is an ex-warrior who is going to bring a much-loved character back from the dead.
"My character is really like an ex-warrior who has become a peacenik," McShane said. "I have a group who is determined to keep the peace. I also bring a much-loved character who everyone things is dead back."
When asked if the beloved character that McShane's character is going to bring back is either Sandor "the Hound" Clegane or Jon Snow, the actor hinted that it is definitely the former.
In George R. R. Martin's original novels, there is a scene with the Elder Brother of the Quiet Isle that suggested the Hound had survived his injuries and taken religious vows.
However, "Game of Thrones" season five showed Qyburn experimenting with the Hound's older brother Gregor. The show implied Qyburn saved Gregor from death and gave him superhuman strength.
If Gregor, now known as Ser Robert Strong, is named Cersei's champion at her upcoming trial, perhaps the Hound will hear the news and return to King's Landing in order to be the champion for the Faith of the Seven.
Previously, "Game of Thrones" hinted that the Hound hated his older brother and it would make sense that he would try to kill Gregor once and for all.
The "Game of Thrones" season six premiere will air on Saturday, April 14, at 9 p.m. ET on HBO.
