"Legends of Tomorrow" star Arthur Darvill recently sat down to discuss his time traveling character Rip Hunter and the British actor claimed his time on "Dr. Who" helped him prepare for playing such a fascinating role.

Darvill admitted to Digital Spy that he gained confidence after his stint on "Dr. Who" and that helped him bring Rip's self-assured swagger on "Legends of Tomorrow" to life.

"It's been an amazing experience, but it's been a massive learning experience too," he explained. "To be honest, I don't think I could have done this role five years ago. I think I really gained a lot of confidence from working on shows like 'Doctor Who.' Now, I really feel like I can grab this by the horns and go for it."

The "Legends of Tomorrow" star added that he had a great time shooting the scenes where Rip and the others meet Jonah Hex, who will be played by Johnathon Schaech.

Entertainment Weekly pointed out that in the original comics, Jonah is a legendary Civil War veteran who becomes a bounty hunter and sticks to his own moral code.

He is known as "the deadliest man alive" and people claim that he was marked "by a demon" due to the fact that Jonah has a horribly disfigured face.

"We've just been shooting scenes with Jonah Hex, who is played by Johnathon Schaech," Darvill said. "Johnathon is a brilliant actor-I can't spoil it too much, but there's a great meeting of minds there!

Aside from the upcoming meeting with Jonah, the CW released the official synopsis for "Legends of Tomorrow" episode eight.

Comic Book Movie reported that "Night of the Hawk" is going to revolve around the team traveling to Oregon in the 1950s in an attempt to track down Vandal Savage.

When they arrive in Oregon, they discover that there has been a string of recent murders and they suspect that Vandal is the killer.

Professor Stein and Sara decide to go undercover at a psychiatric hospital where Vandal's working as a doctor. This leads to Sara meets a pretty nurse named Laura and sparks fly between them.

Meanwhile, Ray and Kendra go undercover as a married couple in order to learn more about the murders, but the fact that they are an interracial couple in the 1950s leads to Vandal appearing on their doorstep.

"Legends of Tomorrow" is currently airing on Thursday nights at 8 p.m. ET on the CW.
