"Rocky Horror Picture Show" star Laverne Cox revealed that she became overly emotional when learning that the 1975 film's original star Tim Curry would be appearing in the Fox reboot of the cult favorite film.

"I knew they were interested in bringing him on, potentially as narrator, but I didn't know if it would happen or not. I just cried when I found out," Cox said during the Winter Press Tour panel discussion for her Netflix series "Orange is the New Black," according to Zap To It.

"When I fell in love with 'Rocky Horror Picture Show' in college, it was Tim Curry's portrayal of Dr. Frank-N-Furter that was so moving for me," she revealed of her passion for the film and for Curry.

Cox revealed it was a "dream come true" to learn she would be acting alongside one of her heroes.

Curry will appear in the updated version of Fox's "Rocky Horror" as the movie's narrator.

Cox is taking over Curry's role as the infamous Dr. Frank-N-Furter in the project.

"Honestly, I just can't wait to sit with him and talk and be in the same room with him," she admitted during the panel discussion.

"His career has evolved and he's evolved as an artist. It's just so weird when you're obsessed with something and then the person is in front of you, so I think that will be really bizarre," she commented of her love for the actor and his work.

Cox remarked that although she can't wait to put her own spin on the character of Dr. Frank-N-Furter, she would love to see the original in its full glory, during one of the flick's iconic midnight screenings.

"Ironically I've never gone to a midnight showing," said Cox to Zap to It.

"When I discovered 'Rocky Horror' I was in college and some friends were like, 'You have to watch this 'Rocky Horror Picture Show,'," she says. "I started learning audience participation through my friends and got the soundtrack and learned all of the songs and was just obsessed with it," she revealed of the iconic music to the campy film.

"The Rocky Horror Picture Show" will air on Fox the fall of 2016.
