There’s been an ongoing feud between Shahrukh Khan and Salman Khan for quite some time. After hugging it out at an Iftar party last year and again this year, showing that they are on good terms, it looks like they continue to clash when it comes to being number one at the box office.
Previous reports were stating that the two actors were going head-to-head at the box office with their films, “Raees” and “Sultan," and they're apparently ready to fight it out.
There have been reports of “Raees” shifting its release date, but producer Ritesh Sidhwani clarified the rumors and insisted that SRK’s movie was on schedule.
A spokesperson on “Sultan” from Yash Raj Films recently made a statement to Bollywood Life stating that the clash will happen.
“The film will release in Eid 2016 as always scheduled. There was never any shift or change,” said the source.
Sidhwani recently stated in an interview that SRK’s “Raees” will also be released on Eid.
“We have finished shooting most of the movie. Right now, we are working on the parts that were left, including a few action sequences that couldn’t be shot earlier due to Shah Rukh’s knee surgery,” said Sidhwani, who revealed that their “planned” release date is when the movie will be out.
Although SRK and Salman are set to fight it out at the box office, they still support each other with their films.
We’ve seen SRK and Salman praise each other on their work, showing that they have become close again. However, a source close to the industry revealed that the two actors are not really what they appear to be, and are feuding over their films’ releases.
“Things aren’t the way like they were a few months back. Their fun and banter on the ‘Bigg Boss’ special episode was genuine, but now they have a reason to hold a grouse against one another. Both their films are releasing on the same day and neither of them is ready to opt out of the race,” said the source, according to Filmi Beat.
“Sultan” and “Raees” are both set to release on Eid this year, and neither of the actors are backing off from the competition as they know that the holiday will play a big factor in their film’s success.
“Salman is going all out to ensure that there is no delay from his end. He’s been disciplined in terms of meeting the planned schedule and has promised Adi that ‘Sultan’ will release on Eid,” added the source.
