Abraham, "The Walking Dead"
(Photo : The Walking Dead/ Facebook ) Is it time for Abraham's run to end on "The Walking Dead?"

After making a deal with Gregory and the Hilltop Colony last week, Rick and his group plan a special operations mission to infiltrate Negan's base in this week's episode, "Not Tomorrow Yet."

If you haven't watched tonight's episode, stop reading! Spoilers ahead!

IN this episode, Rick and the group did pretty well taking out a bunch of biker bad guys. They devise a Bond-like plan to take out the guards and kill everyone in their sleep. At the end of the episode they all make it out alive — or so they think.

Just when the group is patting themselves on the back for taking out Negan and his gang, they learn that they started the party too soon. There are more people left inside, and Negan has captured Carol and Maggie.

After the setup of tonight's episode, someone has to die next week. It has been a long time since "The Walking Dead" killed off a series regular, and our vote is for Abraham. Here's why:

3. Nothing to Show for All His Screentime

Abraham has had way too much time devoted to him in the past two seasons. Last season he got a whole episode devoted to his past. But that was understandable, they needed to give us some backstory on the character.

That one episode should have been the end of it. In this second half of season 6, Abraham is getting a lot of personal time. Lots of introspective shots of him. No other character has gotten as much reflective time as Abraham has in this second half.

Usually, when characters get "moments" they end up being killed off very soon. It's an unspoken truth in "The Walking Dead" run. At least, it used to be.

Abraham has had a lot of personal moments for his development as a character. Yet, he hasn't really developed all that much. Abraham's reflection does little to progress the story forward, and therefore we no longer need him.

2. Outgrown His Usefulness

We were introduced to Abraham in season 4, as the so-to-speak guardian of Eugene. He and Rosita were trying to escort Eugene to Washington, D.C. for a cure to the "zombie infection."

Abraham, Rosita and Eugene joined forces with Rick and the group. They all eventually learned that Eugene knew nothing about a cure. He knew that he could not survive on his own and came up with the cure story to get protection.

Seasons later and Abraham is still there with nothing to do. True he is a fighter, but the group has plenty of fighters. Some might say that we can never have too many fighters. Though that was once true, it may not be true anymore.

The second half of season 6 is progressing the "The Walking Dead" into an entirely different world.
It seems like showrunner Scott Gimple is shifting the focus towards creating a new post-apocalypse world. Until now in the run, the group was focused on just surviving until the next hoard of walkers or the next enemy. They were focused on just surviving until something changed. Now, however, they realize that this is the new world, or "the next world," as Jesus says in the episode.

The focus now is to live. To create a new world where the walkers are the same as the crime and violence we have in a non-apocalypse world. They will grow, start families and enjoy life as it is.
Abraham is not really needed for that. Plus, we know that sooner or later one of Rick's group is going to have to be killed off ... why not Abraham who doesn't offer a vital skill?

1. He Is Not Nice

On tonight's episode, Abraham tells Rosita he is leaving her. Instead of kindly explaining to her how he has been trapped in this love triangle between her and Sasha, he says "When we met I thought you were the last woman in the world."

Abraham meant that he didn't care about her at all, she was just there. Which was not a nice move on his part. He could have at least given her some courtesy as a friend, and as someone who helped him survive when it was just the two of them and Eugene.

Just for that terrible moment, he deserves to be killed off.

Catch "The Walking Dead" Sundays, 9 p.m. ET on AMC.

Do you think Abraham should get killed off next?
