"Allegiant" star Ansel Elgort is branching out from movies to music.
While the actor, who plays Caleb in the "Divergent" series, has already tried his hand at being a DJ, he is now set to take on the music world as a singer and producer. Elgort will release his first EP, according to Vogue.
The actor, who goes by the name Ansolo in music, shared the news on Twitter when one fan asked him if he was the one singing in one of his Snapchat stories.
"Yeah :) I'm doing an EP of songs I've written, produced and with my vocals," Elgort said.
Elgort opened up about his plan to release his first electronic dance music (EDM) album in an interview with MTV.

Speaking of the album, which is tentatively titled "Shadow" or "I Will Be a Shadow," the "Insurgent" actor said the purpose of the album was to let people know more about his work as a music producer.
"For example, with Calvin Harris, people are like, 'Oh, Calvin Harris is the guy that sang 'Feels So Close' ... but he's the producer," Elgort said. "The vocal is probably what he spent only 20 minutes recording or a couple of hours. But the record he probably spent a month producing, so production is what I'm more into."
The actor also said that he's rather invested in his venture and he's focused on making and releasing records.
"My goal is just to make the records," Elgort told Rolling Stone. "My goal is to make the records that people know and people love that will last for more than a year. I want people to say, 'Oh, wow, that Ansolo record... remember that one from five yeas ago? That one's sick."
Watch out for Elgort's EP, and catch him in the next "Divergent" installment, "Ascendant," which will hit theaters June 7, 2017.
