"Shadowhunters" star Katherine McNamara has teased what fans can expect from her character in the upcoming installment of the hit Freeform TV series.
In an interview with InStyle, the actress said that even though it looked like Jace (Dominic Sherwood) and Clary (Katherine McNamara) were already getting serious, things will not go smoothly for the two. Apart from the idea that they might be blood-related - siblings, to be exact - Clary also has feelings for Simon (Alberto Rosende).
"I love that Clary can never truly choose between the two of them because each one represents half of who she is," the actress said. "Jace represents her Shadowhunter side, and she needs him to teach her and help her navigate this world."

McNamara continued: "But then Simon represents her humanity, and he knows her better than she knows herself. He's there for her, he's her rock and her stability, and he's the person that keeps her sane throughout all of this."
The actress added that choosing between the two would mean Clary choosing between two halves of herself, which is impossible.
McNamara had previously shared how she is fond of the complexity of the show's characters.

"Something that I love about this series are the characters and their relationships," the actress told TV Guide. "Yes, we take place in this world of fantasy. Yes, half our characters are warlocks, vampires, werewolves or some other myriad of fantastical creature. Even so, despite all that, these characters are all growing up."
The characters are indeed growing up and are set to face new challenges, especially now that Clary has completely accepted her identity as a shadowhunter.
"Shadowhunters" season 2 has not been given an air date yet.
