Aishwarya Rai Bachchan recently made a successful comeback in the Bollywood industry with “Jazbaa,” and now she is booking more projects.
The former Miss World has been busy filming for “Sarbjit,” directed by Omung Kumar, who also directed “Mary Kom," but is also working with Ranbir Kapoor in "Ae Dil Hai Mushkil." However, now the actress has reportedly bagged a new role and someone special will be starring opposite of her.
According to Business of Cinema, Bachchan has just announced that she will be working on another movie. While talking to the media, she confessed that she has been approached for Ajay Devgn’s “Baadshaho.”
Devgn and Bachchan have been one of the most popular on-screen duos in the Bollywood industry after their chemistry in the film “Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam.”
Bachchan reportedly said that she’s been in touch with Devgn to talk about the upcoming film, and added that the official announcement will be made once things are finalized.
In the mean time, Bachchan recently wrapped up her film, “Sarbjit,” and we’ve been hearing about some details behind the movie.
Bachchan, who plays the role of Dalbir Kaur Singh, recently revealed that the story of “Sarbjit” needed to be told.
“When Omung Kumar came to me with the subject, it was immediate yes. How can we walk away from telling such a story?” said Bachchan to Zee News. “We all continue our lives and don’t necessarily take a minute out to experience how an incident can completely change the dynamic of family.”
The former Miss World added that “history cannot go unknown” and revealed some details about her character.
“Dalbir for over 23 years fought for this kind of sibling love and commitment is commendable,” said Bachchan. “This story needed to be told and thank you for bringing it to me.”
The actress revealed that she had the chance to meet the real Dalbir during the first schedule of shooting for the film, and the meeting brought a lot of attention to her.
“I have not spent time with her before the film. I met her for the first time during our first schedule,” said Bachchan. “There is certainly physicality that we have brought to. I have no sat and watched everything. We have changed the eyes of the character.”
The movie is reportedly about the journey of the protagonist, Sarbjit Singh, by mistake crossed the border and was captured by security forces in Pakistan and claimed that the man was a spy. After spending 23 years in jail for the crime he never committed, Sarbjit was killed by an inmate.
