After seeing several cast members of "Veronica Mars" make cameos in Rob Thomas' new show "iZombie," fans have been holding their breath to see lead star Kristen Bell make an appearance.
During the second season of "iZombie," Bell lent her voice in the episode entitled "Fifty Shades of Grey Matter." However, fans did not see Bell at all, and have been asking Thomas to make this happen.
Thomas told TV Guide that he's doing his best to have Bell finally make her cameo during the third season.
"I absolutely want to have Kristen Bell come on the show. That's the dream," he said. "And I think it will happen someday. Honestly, if we didn't film in Canada and she didn't have two small children, I think it would have happened by now."
However, Thomas admitted that Bell's schedule will be tighter than ever so fans might have to exercise a bit more patience waiting for her appearance.
"Next year, she's got her own new show, so it might also be difficult to work out, but someday that will happen," he said. "And then I'd love to have Adam Scott on. I'd love to have Martin Starr. Certainly, I'd love to have more 'Veronica Mars' people."
Thomas said that he even had interesting cameos for Jason Dohiring and Chris Lowell during the season 2 episode entitled "Method Head," wherein they would play actors for the TV show called "Zombie High." Unfortunately, their schedules did not pan out.
"We did think that having Jason Dohring and Chris Lowell playing those two characters would be hilarious," said Thomas. "However, Jason was filming in Atlanta and Chris was already booked. We did see if they were available for that, because it would have cracked us up. Jason Dohring is pretty method already, but getting to dial up the method acting would be pretty hilarious."
Meanwhile, "iZombie" star Rose McIver hopes that her character Liv Moore will get the opportunity to exercise her musical talents during the third season.
"Liv has sung a bit and Blaine [David Anders] has sung a bit. I want, like, a full musical episode," McIver told Comic Book Resources. "I want there to be just like brains, maybe something contaminated where everybody has to eat it and the whole episode is done in song."
"iZombie" season 3 is slated for the 2016-2017 roster of The CW.
