Deepika Padukone is one of the most loved actresses in the Bollywood industry by fans, directors and actors.

Rumors have been circulating for a while that Deepika Padukone and Salman Khan were going to star in a film together. The two actors have expressed interest in working with each other for a long time, but are those plans being put on hold?
Padukone was supposed to star in Kabir Khan’s upcoming film with Khan, but new reports are stating that Katrina Kaif will be starring the movie instead.
According to Filmi Beat, Khan’s ex-girlfriend will be romancing Salman in Kabir’s next film.
According to DNA, “Katrina Kaif has been finalized to replace Deepika in the Kabir Khan directorial. Deepika was reportedly unhappy with her role and wanted Kabir to increase her portions in the film. But Kabir doesn’t like altering his scripts according to actor’s demands hence he refused to budge.”
Now the director is in talks with Kaif, and is positive that she will approve of the movie.
Kabir told the publication, “Needless to say that my films always have political backdrops because these are the kind of stories that excited me. So, that’s always gonna be there. As far as story goes, it is very different to what I’ve done so far. The film is on a territory that Salman and I have not ventured yet, So, we are excited about it.”
According to Bollywood Life, Padukone was supposed to star in Kabir Khan’s film, “Tubelight,” with Salman. Sources close to the project revealed to the gossip site that the actress was keen to work with Salman, but felt that her character wasn’t a strong leading role. She had agreed to work on the film only under one condition, which was for Kabir to make her character important and give her a heavy role, however, it looks like those terms were not made.
Sources told Bollywood Life that the film demands the girl to be of Chinese origin, therefore Padukone will be replaced.
“Deepika has realized that she doesn't have much scope in this film. Her condition was that they increase her role when she comes on board, but Kabir is very strict with his writing and doesn’t plan to do any such thing. Hence the makers will go as planned with a girl of Chinese origin,” said the source.
According to Filmi Beat, the movie is set during the 1960s era and would have the “good old days” touch to it. The makers of the film would start shooting during end of July or early August 2016.
