The Spice Girls’ 20th anniversary is coming up and it appears that the Girl Power group has been talking about a reunion. Will Mel B., Mel C., Geri Halliwell, Emma Bunton and Victoria Beckham unite for another tour in 2016?
There have been a variety of rumors regarding a possible Spice Girls reunion, however, although nothing is confirmed, former member Beckham, A.K.A. Posh Spice, opened up about a surprising secret.
Beckham recently revealed that she never really needed a microphone during her previous Spice Girls concerts. During an interview at the Vogue 100: A Century of Style exhibition at the National Portrait Gallery in London on Thursday, the former Spice Girls member confessed something about her mic.
“They used to turn it off and just let the others sing,” said Beckham according to E! News, adding that she didn’t care too much, though, as she joked, I got the last laugh, and now my mic is well and truly on, finally.”
Mel B was previously asked about the various rumors of the girl group getting back together for their 20th anniversary and while she didn’t exactly confirm it, she didn’t turn it down either.
“I mean, we got together for the Olympics and nobody thought that we were going to get together for that,” said Brown to E! News at an O.P.I nail polish event at House of Polish. “Next year is our 20th anniversary so we’ll see. Maybe we’ll do something. Who knows?”
The singer was asked if she has talked to the girls about getting back together for one last banger, to which she replied, “We talk a lot and we text and we Facetime. I was just Facetiming Geri [Halliwell] the other day, she’s about to get married so we’re going to go over to England for her wedding.”
It’s not exactly a tour reunion, but to see the girls all together again is a great treat.
Earlier in March, Bunton opened up about getting back together with the girls in a previous interview and she also seemed open to the idea.
“I was with Geri [Halliwell] and Mel B just recently, we love each other and we love performing together,” said Bunton. “It’s just when the timing is right because we all have our own career now and we have families, it’s just about getting five schedules together and that’s all it is.”
Brown previously admitted that she wants to reunite with the group again for the special occasion, but it will take a lot of effort. She previously revealed to Daily Star that she wants to get “things moving” after having a “conversation with Melanie C.”
“We got together for the Olympics and we managed to pull that one off,” added Brown.
