"Teen Wolf" alum Colton Haynes has come out as gay, according to Yahoo News.
The actor, who also appeared on "Arrow," opened up about his sexuality during an interview with Entertainment Weekly saying he only felt comfortable admitting it now, but his family has known for a long time about it.
"I should have made a comment or a statement, but I just wasn't ready," Haynes said. "I didn't feel like I owed anyone anything."
The actor continued: "I think in due time, everyone has to make those decisions when they're ready, and I wasn't yet. But I felt like I was letting people down by not coming forward with the rest of what I should have said."
Rumors about the actor's sexuality started swirling in January when a fan commented on his "secret gay past." When asked about it, the actor replied, "Was it a secret?", but did not comment further about the issue.
Speaking of his struggles about keeping his sexuality a secret, Haynes said: "People want you to be that GQ iamge that you put out, but people don't realize what it's like to act 24 hours a day. I'd go home and I was still acting."
The actor continued: "People who are so judgmental about those who are gay or different don't realize that acting 24 hours a day is the most exhausting thing in the world."
More people from the entertainment industry have opened up about their sexuality in an attempt to spread the message of inclusion.
"I'm happy to be gay, I'm so comfortable being gay, I love being gay," Ellen Paige said in 2014. "And honestly, it wasn't until making that choice in doing that, where I realized like, no, I was carrying a tremendous amount of shame and guilt for not being out and I felt isolated from the LGBT community, and now I don't."
