New spoilers for "The Vampire Diaries" season seven, episode 21 hinted Damon Salvatore is going to try to find a way to save his best friend Bonnie Bennett from being cursed to kill every single vampire that walks the Earth.
Previously on "The Vampire Diaries," Damon tried to save a dying Bonnie by exchanging the hunter Rayna Cruz's life for hers.
Even though Rayna died, her curse transferred to the young witch and now Bonnie is compelled to kill every single vampire she can find until the entire species has been eradicated.
SpoilerTV reported that the synopsis for episode 21 hinted Damon is going to come up with a risky plan to free Bonnie's from Rayna's curse.
Unfortunately, the consequences of his actions force everyone to band together in order to save Bonnie from the magical compulsion to kill vampires.
The synopsis for "Requiem For A Dream" also hinted a new threat is going to force Caroline Forbes and Stefan Salvatore to have a heart-to-heart discussion about their previous relationship.
Elsewhere, Enzo is going to be devastated while he watches his girlfriend fight Rayna's curse while Matt is going to take matters into his own hands in order to save Bonnie.
"The Vampire Diaries" star Kat Graham revealed to TVLine that Rayna's curse forced Bonnie to confront the subconscious hatred she felt for vampires over the past seven seasons.
"Bonnie is not evil, she is justified," the actress explained. "I've always felt that Bonnie was a hero, and could be seen as an antihero, to a lot of characters on the show. She is never lukewarm, and whenever she is placed on the middle, I've always found discomfort in justifying her decisions for that. She has always disliked vampires, and has constantly had to battle that inner struggle throughout the seven seasons of the show."
Graham also hinted that Bonnie "got a chance to stake plenty of vampires" in episode 21.
SpoilerTV added that there's a scene in the promotional trailer for "Requiem For A Dream" where Bonnie is about to stake Damon and he asks for her forgiveness.
It is possible he found a way to break Rayna's curse and asked for Bonnie's forgiveness in the hopes of distracting her long enough so she will come to her senses.
It will be interesting to see if Bonnie accepts her friend's help or if she will continue Rayna's crusade against vampires.
"The Vampire Diaries" season seven is currently airing on Friday nights at 8 p.m. ET on the CW.
