So far, 2016 has been...well, really tough, to be honest. There are a lot of real, important issues to worry about—Brexit, the upcoming election, the disturbing increase of mass shootings, to name just a few. Hell, if you're a particularly anxious person you might even be worked up about this whole Taylor Swift vs. Kim Kardashian and Kanye West situation.
But we can't be stressed AF all of the time, right? How can one chill out, even for just a few moments, when it all gets to be too much?
There's the Ramona Singer way:
But that's not for everyone, of course.
So, what else? I've discovered that everyone—everyone at Glamour HQ, at least—has at least one show that gives them a happy, calming effect, the emotional equivalent of cuddling a soft puppy. These are the shows we find relaxing—maybe you will, too?
Parks and Recreation
This one's my pick. Parks and Rec's witty, a-joke-a-minute humor can easily put anyone in a good mood—but it's the show's gentle, heartwarming side that really gets me. You just can't feel anxious when you have heroes like Ron Swanson and Leslie Knope to cheer you up.

Friday Night Lights
I asked Kim Fusaro to tell me why FNL is her go-to calm-the-eff-down show and all she did was send me GIFs of Riggins, so interpret that how you will.
Witches of East End
"Anything involving magic and extensive personal drama that is always mysteriously resolved," explains our social media manager Meg Clark. Another show that fits that description? Vampire Diaries.
Gilmore Girls
A few people cited GG as a calming force. "I put it on in the background so it can just be there as a soothing presence," says Robin Hilmantel.
Degrassi
In college, Sara Gaynes Levy turned to this show because "whatever was happening to me, nothing was as bad as what was happening to them."
Golf
When Jessica Radloff told us that she finds the golf channel soothing, Laura Stillo instantly seconded that: "Oh my God, I take the best naps to golf!"
Netflix doesn't have golf tournaments available for streaming, but you can watch the Justin Timberlake and Jessica Biel-produced documentary, The Short Game.
Anything From HGTV
"Love It or List It, Flip or Flop, Property Brothers…basically anything that shows a before and after," recommends Florence Kane.
Being Mary Jane
"It just makes me feel better," says Kate Friedman. "If Mary Jane can get through some of the situations the show puts her through then there's hope."

Food Shows
Comfort food? Several staff members listed shows like Chef's Table and Chopped as their picks.
Bob's Burgers
"To be honest, it's mindless fart jokes," laughs Lindsay Schallon. "I don't have to think when I watch it. I can turn it on, not pay attention, and play Candy Crush while it's on in the background. Also, Tina is my spirit animal, so her awkward situations make me feel better."
