Amidst allegations of sexual harassment against Fox News CEO Roger Ailes, Megyn Kelly, arguably the most prominent journalist on the network, has remained noticeably silent on the matter. However, two anonymous sources close to an outside investigation of the Fox News executive—a probe initiated by parent company 21st Century Fox, after former anchor Gretchen Carlson filed a sexual harassment suit against him—allege that Kelly has revealed that she, too, received unwanted sexual advances from Ailes. According to a report from New York magazine, Kelly told the law firm investigating Ailes that the network executive sexually harassed her in the mid-2000s, when she was getting her start as a correspondent on the network's Washington bureau.

This latest development follows recent allegations from former Fox News anchor Gretchen Carlson that she was fired from the network after refusing sexual advances from Ailes. Earlier this month, she filed a lawsuit against the CEO which accused him of repeated sexual harassment and unfair treatment in comparison to her male colleagues. Six additional women have also come forward with similar stories of unwanted sexual advances and inappropriate behavior from Ailes. Parent company 21st Century Fox launched an internal review following Carlson's allegations, but it quickly turned into a more comprehensive examination of the controversial executive's managerial style.

As it stands currently, Kelly holds a commanding presence at the cable news network and, as New York notes, has emerged as a budding feminist icon in recent months, retaining her strong-willed, determined composure throughout a contentious relationship with presumptive Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump. Many speculate that Kelly will continue to grow as a driving force within the network, especially with Bill O'Reilly hinting at plans to retire soon. Reports also indicate that the Murdoch family—the leadership behind Fox News' parent company—are eager to remove Ailes from his role, especially amidst the recent allegations of sexual harassment. This latest development—and Kelly's alleged claims—might be the final element that pushes Ailes out.

A representative from 21st Century Fox declined to comment. Kelly's agent was not available for comment at press time.
