Remember when Kim Kardashian West told GQ that her husband, Kanye West, had asked Taylor Swift for her permission to use that line in his song "Famous?" You know, the one that goes, "I feel like me and Taylor might still have sex." And not only did Kim say that Kanye told Taylor about the lyric, but she also revealed that there was a video of the conversation.
When asked for comment, Taylor's team told the magazine that Taylor and Kanye did talk once—but "Kanye West never told Taylor he was going to use the term ‘that bitch’ in referencing her. A song cannot be approved if it was never heard...Taylor cannot understand why Kanye West, and now Kim Kardashian, will not just leave her alone."
Well, it seems Kim may not have been lying about the video—she just added a Snapchat story that appears to be a conversation between Kanye and Taylor. In it, Kanye reads the line and then here's what they say:
Kanye: "I think this is a really cool thing to have."
Taylor: "I know, I mean it's like a compliment kind of."
Kanye: "What I give a f--k about is just you as a person and as a friend."
Taylor: "That's sweet."
Kanye: "I just want things that make you feel good. I don't want to do rap that makes people feel bad."
Taylor: "I mean, go with whatever line you think is better. It's obviously very tongue-in-cheek either way. And I really appreciate you telling me about it; that's really nice!"
Kanye: "I just had a responsibility to you as a friend. Thanks so being so cool about it."
Taylor: "Aw thanks, yeah, I really appreciate it. The heads up is just so nice! I just really appreciate it. I never would have expected you to tell me about a line in your song. And even the flowers you sent me, I Instagrammed a picture of them, and it was the most likes I've ever gotten."
Kanye: "Relationships are more important than punchlines, you know."
Taylor: "Yeah, I mean, I don't think anybody would listen to that and think, 'Oh yeah, that's a real dig; she must be crying.' You have to tell a story the way it happened to you and the way that you experienced it. You honestly didn't know who I was before then."
Taylor: "I'm always going to respect you, and I am really glad you had the respect to call me and tell me about it as a friend, about the song, and it's just a really cool thing to do and a really good show of friendship, so thank you.
Kanye: "Thank you too."
Taylor: "And you know, if people ask me about it I think it would be great for me to say, 'He called me before to tell me about the line before it came out, so the joke's on you guys. We're fine. If you guys want to call this a feud or throwing shade...' But you know right when the song comes on I'll be on a Grammy red carpet and they'll ask me about it and I'll be like, 'He called me.'"
Here are Kim's Snapchats for the full conversation:
We're not sure how Taylor will respond to this—but from what we've seen of fans' Twitter reactions so far, it looks like Kim K is in the midst of breaking the Internet yet again.
