Showtime recently released a new teaser trailer for "Penny Dreadful" season three and the clip hinted that Sir Malcolm Murray could travel to the U.S. in order to rescue Ethan Chandler.
In "Penny Dreadful" season two, Ethan confessed to being the killer behind the Mariner's Inn Massacre and was transported in irons back to America per the orders of his father, Mr. Talbot.
Deadline noted that the new "Penny Dreadful" teaser trailer showed a scene where Sir Malcolm is on horseback in what appears to be the Old West.
Given the fact that Ethan was a U.S. Army Calvary officer and mentioned the ruins of Anasazi tribe, it is possible that his father lives in New Mexico.
Perhaps Sir Malcolm heard about Ethan's confession and decided to rescue his friend.
There is a good chance that he will try to use his fortune to bribe Mr. Talbot into releasing Ethan and if that doesn't work, than Sir Malcolm will find a way to sneak into Ethan's prison in order to save his friend.
TVLine added that the new "Penny Dreadful" preview confirmed that Vanessa and Ethan are going to reunite sometime during the third season.
Since the clip hinted that Vanessa was in a psychiatric institution, there is a good chance that she is going to leave and it is possible that when she arrives home, it will coincide with Sir Malcolm returning with Ethan.
The teaser also revealed that Lily and Dorian are gathering acolytes, as they can be seen hosting a wild party at the latter's mansion.
Aside from the new "Penny Dreadful" teaser trailer, Showtime released a new promotional poster for the third season.
IGN pointed out that the image showed a distraught man hunched over and crying. The man's posture also makes his body look like it is being transformed into a skull.
The "Penny Dreadful" season three premiere will air on Sunday, May 1 at 10 p.m. on Showtime.
