Is there hope for one "Teen Mom OG" couple to ever get back together?
In MTV's sneak peek of part one of the "Teen Mom OG" season five reunion, host Dr. Drew Pinsky sits down with Maci Bookout, her ex Ryan Edwards and Ryan's parents Jen and Larry.
Dr. Drew first asks Jen and Larry how they feel about their lives being played out on camera.
"In the very beginning, it was kind of rough. Ryan was definitely the bad guy," Larry explained, before Jen added, "It's an emotional rollercoaster."
Larry does say that their experience on the show may have been worse, if they were involved with social media or read tabloid stories. Since they do not, Larry says they have no problem being on the show.
Maci goes on to explain that, despite the show being rough for her and Ryan in the past, it has actually helped their relationship immensely.
"There were definitely times where we absolutely hated it, but now looking back, especially after this season, I think sometimes it's a huge blessing for our situation, because we've been forced to have conversations that we would've never had," Maci said. "If the show wasn't ever there, I don't know if we would be in the same position and be as close."
Dr. Drew then turns the topic of conversation to Maci and Ryan's relationship. Despite Ryan possibly having a new girlfriend and Maci being engaged, Dr. Drew asks Ryan's parents if they think there is a possibility of Maci and Ryan getting back together in the future. However, according to Jen, fans should not hold out hope for this happening ever again.
"They're much better as friends," Jen responded.
Part one of the "Teen Mom OG" season five reunion airs Monday, Feb. 29, at 10 p.m. on MTV.
