"The Magicians" star Stella Maeve recently sat down to discuss her character Julia Wicker's "destructive" path and revealed why she enjoys performing stunts on Syfy's new series.
Previously, Julia performed a spell that nearly killed her friend Quentin Coldwater and was expelled from Brakebills University.
Maeve told the Nerdist that viewers will have to watch as Julia goes down a very destructive path in season one.
"What's different about Julia is that she does decide to go down a different path, and it might be dark and destructive for some time," the actress explained. "I don't want to reveal too much, but I think what's so interesting about this show as a whole and what drew me to it is the fact that nothing in life is perfect."
Aside from Julia's heartbreaking character arc, Maeve added that she enjoyed filming the recent flying scene because it allowed her to perform a bit of stuntwork.
"Physically, it was super fun having to be hooked into the harnesses and stuff," she said. "We had a great team and they helped us. I had a really good time filming it, because I'm a bit of an adrenaline junkie. But I think the entire cast got to use their physical bodies in some sort of aspect during that scene and were able to enjoy it and have a good time. After all, isn't it everyone's sort of fantasy to be able to fly?"
Aside from Maeve's new interview, Syfy released a sneak peek from the upcoming sixth episode.
TVLine reported that the preview showed Quentin telling Margo that Fillory is real, but it is nothing like the books.
At first, it is obvious that Margo does not entirely believe Quentin, especially when he pointed out that the real Fillory is a far more dangerous place than what the books would have you believe.
However, the clip hinted that Margo realizes Quentin isn't lying and she is shocked when she learns that the Beast who attacked the Dean is from the magical land she loved reading about as a child.
"The Magicians" season one is currently airing on Monday nights at 9 p.m. on Syfy.
