Ever since Nathan Darrow joined the political drama "House of Cards" as Frank Underwood's (Kevin Spacey) loyal bodyguard Edward Meechum, fans have taken a liking to his character.
It was a painful blow not only for the Underwoods to lose him during season 4, but also for fans who have enjoyed seeing Meechum's interesting dynamic with Frank and Claire.
It is inevitable for fans to hold out hope to see his character again on season 5, and Darrow himself told Bustle that the idea isn't as farfetched as it sounds.
"I would suppose that it is possible," Darrow teased. "I mean, if the writers find that's something that's useful to telling some other bit of a story or if they feel like it's going to be interesting to the audience, then I'm sure they could. That's the great thing about storytelling like this, this kind of open-ended series content."
Darrow added that he would not miss the opportunity to be a part of "House of Cards" once again, and he'd reprise the role of Meechum in a heartbeat.
"Of course! Of course I'd be up for it," he said. "It was very interesting to play that character."
Personally, Darrow would love it if Meechum's return would be done in a flashback.
"If it was like a memory," he explained, "If we flashed back to something that the audience hadn't seen from like some years ago, I think that'd be great, of course. It's interesting."
Earlier, Darrow said that he was not surprised when his character was killed off this season.
"It was in line with how I thought of Meechum," the 39-year-old actor told ET Online. "When [show creator] Beau [Willimon] told me that was where it was going, I honestly have to tell you that it was a scenario that had occurred to me."
