Interview Magazine Celebrates Activism With "The New Progressives" April Issue
For it's April issue, Interview Magazine celebrates the "New Progressives," the next generation of artists, thinkers and dreamers who are pushing activism and participation into the 21st Century. The issue, which was unveiled this Friday, April 1, features a cover portfolio of the most exciting advocates for environment protections and social change including Amandla Stenberg and Rowan Blanchard, styled in Prada and Miu Miu.
"As more and more people are finding a voice and the means to express themselves, we see, to be placing greater expectations on those whose voices carry the farthest," says Interview's Senior Editor Chris Wallace. "We are recalibrating our relationships with public figured, demanding that those with the conch shell use it for good, to stand for something that matters to be involved."
The issue's features include conversations with Academy-Award-winning actress Susan Sarandon, whistleblower and trans‐rights advocate Chelsea Manning, President of Planned Parenthood Cecile Richards and renowned conservationist and animal activist Jane Goodall.
Baltimore Mayoral Candidate DeRay McKesson was also interviewed for the issue by Twitter co-founder and CEO Jack Dorsey, whose platform, along with Instagram and Tumblr, has become an outlet for which each of these activists amplify their voice and connect with the world to unify their efforts.
